City of Gadsden Transportation Services
Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Goal – FY 2011
The City of Gadsden Transportation Services (GTS) has established a preliminary goal of 6% DBE participation in applicable Federal Transit Administration (FTA) funded projects during FY 2011 This goal was derived using Federally approved methods and guidelines as outlined in 49 CFR, Part 26.
The proposed goal and its rationale are available for inspection during GTS normal business hours, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday at the GTS Offices, 1699 Chestnut Street, Gadsden, AL 35901.
Comments and inquiries regarding the goal and its rationale will be accepted from the public for 45 days following publication of this notice. Qualified or potential DBE firms are encouraged to submit letters of introduction indicating the types of services and products they provide.

TRANSPORTATION SERVICES DEPARTMENT
FY 2010 PROGRAM OF PROJECTS AND BUDGETS
The Transportation Services Department of the City of Gadsden is making application to the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) of the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) for capital and operating funds to carry out various public transportation programs and activities during FY 2010.
URBANIZED AREA FORMULA GRANT PROGRAM
This urbanized area (Section 5307) formula grant will be used to fund the various capital and operational activities. This will enable the DART and Trolley systems to provide public transportation services during FY2010. The Federal apportionment amount is based on funding made available under Omnibus Appropriations Act, 2009 P.L. 111-8. The proposed budget is as follows:

This grant application will be available for public review and comment for a period of thirty (30) days from the date of this notice at the Gadsden Transportation Services Office located at 1699 Chestnut Street, Gadsden AL 35901.These projects are included in the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) that was adopted by the Gadsden Etowah Metropolitan Planning Organization on September 13, 2007.

MPO Announces Long Range Planning Public Meeting

(Gadsden, AL - August 19, 2009) The Gadsden-Etowah County Metropolitan Planning Organization is planning a series of public meetings to gather information from citizens, as well as members of private and public agencies concerning its 25-year Long Range Plan. The organization helps manage transportation construction projects in the Etowah County area, in conjunction with local municipalities, the county, and Alabama Department of Transportation.
The meetings will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2009. The first meeting will be in the Gadsden/Etowah County Chamber Conference Room from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The second meeting will be held the same day, Thursday, August 27, 2009, at the ALACO Room in the Senior Activity Center, from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The chamber is located at 1 Commerce Square, on the corner of 1st Street and Walnut Street in Downtown Gadsden. The Senior Activity Center is located at 623 Broad Street, next to the historic Pitman Theatre.
