EMA Calls for Volunteers to Join Citizens Corps

(Gadsden, AL - January 13, 2010) The Gadsden/Etowah County EMA is calling for individuals and organizations interested in helping their community in times of emergency situations to join them for their Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster and Citizen Corps Council meeting, set for next Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at 3 P.M.

The meeting will be held at the GECEMA offices at Gadsden City Hall.

The VOAD/Citizens Corps Council consists of representatives from various local governments, municipalities, social service organizations, and individuals who provide volunteer services and resources in times of emergency.

The meeting is open to anyone who has an interest in helping their community, according to a press release from the EMA today. For more information, contact the GECEMA at (256) 549-4575.
